WORK HIGHLIGHTS, representing:
- A claimant in the business of ship building and repair, and conversion of ships into off-shore structures. The claimant entered a contract with the defendant to convert a barge into a floating fish farm. When parties disputed the amounts to be paid, such as variation orders, the claimant obtained a warrant of arrest against the barge and the defendant applied to set it aside. The novel issue addressed was what the definition of a “ship” was under the High Court (Admiralty Jurisdiction) Act.
- A SGX listed offshore support vessel company with operations in various jurisdictions such as Singapore, China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Mexico in many arbitration and court proceedings.
- A listed OSV company in various matters, including HKIAC arbitration against a China state owned entity in a claim exceeding USD 50 million pertaining to defects and non-conformity of specifications of a vessel.
